Head of Russia's Foreign Ministry Sergei Lavrov will visit Iran on June 13, Russian Foreign Ministry department for information and publishing reported.
It was noted that at the meeting with Iranian officials it is planned to discuss Russian initiative to host the international conference on Syria.
According to Russian Foreign Ministry, Iran has influence in Syria, and it is one of the countries that should be presented at the conference.
The ministry also said that without Iran's participation, constructive international impact in this issue will not be used in full force.
The U.S. have been rejecting the possibility of Iran's participation in the Syrian settlement.
The Russian side says some 15 countries could be participating in the international conference on Syria.
Among those countries are Russia, the U.S., France, Great Britain, China, and also Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Turkey and Iran.
