Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that different countries of the Middle East region are experiencing a sensitive and strategic period in terms of determination of their own fate upon democracy and religious, national values, IRNA reported.
He made the remarks in an Iftar reception (breaking fast) with ambassadors and heads of representative offices of Islamic countries in Tehran and in the presence of President Ahmadinejad here on Wednesday evening.
Salehi said that Iran believes that cooperation and coordination among countries of the region for continuation of peace, stability and tranquility is important and strategic.
He went on to say that Iranian nation and government have always welcomed deepening and consolidating friendly relations upon justice, equality and mutual respect.
He underlined that Iran has always used all of its capacity to expand an atmosphere of peace, stability and friendship.
Iran's senior diplomat said that negotiation with Group 5+1 will certainly continue and we are waiting for President-elect Hassan Rohani to take office and choose Iran's negotiating group.
