The construction of the first solar power plant was launched in Ishtihard district of Iran's Alborz province through foreign investments on Nov. 12, IRNA reported.
Reportedly, a 50 megawatt plant will be constructed on a 100-hectare-area in Palangabad village of Ishtihard district through the investments made by the private sector and a Chinese investment company.
Meanwhile, 50 million euros will be spent for the construction of the plant.
According to the forecast, the plant will be commissioned in the coming year. The capacity of the plant can be increased up to 100 megawatts.
The Iranian Ministry of Energy supports and welcomes the construction of solar power plants.
