Georgia develops strategy for human rights protection

The Georgian government is developing a strategy and action plan for the protection of human rights, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at a conference on protection of human rights being held in Tbilisi on Dec.4.
"Our task is to build a European state type which primarily involves a high level of democracy and human rights protection. For this purpose a strategy and action plan are being created for protection of human rights which will show in detail what steps the state will make to achieve this goal," the prime minister said.
Garibashvili said it is very symbolic that he takes part in the event dedicated to the protection of human rights in the capacity of prime minister for the first time.
