A helicopter has crashed off the Caribbean island of Saba while en route to pick up a medical patient, the Associated Press reported.
Bobby Velasquez of the St. Maarten Sea Rescue Foundation says the pilot and co-pilot died in the accident. He says the authorities are investigating what caused the crash.
The privately owned helicopter took off late Tuesday from St. Maarten's Princess Juliana International Airport on a chartered trip to transport the patient to a hospital.
