Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 30
Russia will cancel the Year of Russian-Turkish Cooperation, scheduled for 2016, RIA Novosti quoted Olga Golodets, Russian deputy prime minister, as saying Nov. 30.
"The decision was made as part of restrictive measures in economic and humanitarian areas, taken as a response to the act of aggression from Turkey," she said.
Relations between Russia and Turkey deteriorated after the downing of a Russian Su-24 bomber by Turkish Air Force Nov. 24.
After the incident, Russian President Vladimir Putin decreed to take special economic actions against Turkey, banning or limiting the import of certain goods from that country.
