13:11 (GMT+4) Ten people were killed in the explosion according to preliminary reports, said the Turkish media. Citizenship of the blast victims has not yet been established. There are police officers among the wounded.

The work of subway stations in the city was suspended, after the explosion. Police fears a second explosion.

12:44 (GMT+4) It has been reported that the explosion occurred near the central mosque when tourists were passing by.

According to some Turkish media, the explosion was caused by a suicide bomber, but there are no official statements about the incident.
