Five NATO service members died in Afghanistan Sunday in separate incidents, while 11 Afghans including a child were killed in a suicide car bombing in the country's south, dpa reported.

NATO-led International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) said in a statement on Sunday said three of its soldiers had died as a result of non-battle related injury in western Afghanistan on Sunday.

Neither the nationalities of the deceased troops nor the exact location of the incident was given by the coalition forces. Spanish and Italian soliders are mostly deployed in the west.

Separately, one soldier was killed in an insurgent attack in the volatile south, while an ISAF soldier was killed by a roadside bomb in the east.

Earlier in the day an Afghan government spokesman reported that ten security personnel and an 11-year-old child were killed Sunday by a suicide car bombing in southern Afghanistan.

"Ten policemen and a child were martyred in the explosion," Daud Ahmadi said, adding that nine others including six policemen were injured.

The incident took place in Helmand's capital Lashkar Gah, one of the seven regions handed over by international troops to Afghan forces earlier this month.
