One of the big enterprises of Azerbaijan’s Sumgayit Technological Park (STP) - a plant producing aluminum profiles and polymer pipes, has exported a small volume of products since the beginning of this year, STP PR Manager Rashad Aliyev told Trend.
“The plant previously planned to export big volumes to the foreign markets, but small volumes were supplied due to the coronavirus pandemic worldwide,” Aliyev said.
“The current situation with the pandemic of a dangerous virus greatly affected the export plans of this enterprise,” PR manager said. “The small volumes were supplied in the first month of this year.”
“During this period of the year, aluminum profiles were exported to Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic countries,” Aliyev added. “Moreover, metal raw materials were exported for the production of aluminum profiles to Turkey."
PR manager said that the plant has established partnership relations with a number of European countries including Poland, Denmark and the Baltic countries.
“Since the beginning of this year, 60 tons of aluminum profiles have been exported to Denmark and 25 tons of products to Poland,” Aliyev said. “The enterprise plans to strengthen its export potential and expand its supply volumes till the end of this year.”
The aluminum plant produces hot-rolled and cold-rolled profiles, window systems, aluminum bus bars, as well as other varieties of aluminum products.
Moreover, the plant melts and prepares aluminum, melts copper. The productivity of aluminum furnaces is 30,000 tons per year. The local raw materials produced in Ganja are mainly used in the production process.
