BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 1. Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are developing a project on the production of aluminum radiators, an informed source told Trend.

According to the information, the project is planned to be implemented in the Free Economic Zone of Alat (Azerbaijan) with the participation of Uzbek company AKFA Group with an investment volume of $10 million.

To note, Uzbekistan is a major producer of electrical products, including transformers, cables, wires, electronics, and household appliances. Exports of these products exceed $1 billion, with major markets in the CIS, Eastern Europe, and Southeast Asia.

Azerbaijan also has a developed electrical industry, which includes the production of transformers (10,000 units), cables (100,000 km/year), and electronics. The main production facilities are concentrated in major cities such as Baku and Ganja. Azerbaijan imported about $500 million worth of electrical products in 2023, mainly from China, Russia, and Europe.

Furthermore, exports of Uzbek electrical products to Azerbaijan totaled $33 million in 2023. Out of this amount, $14.1 million was for household appliances, $17.1 million for cable and copper products, and $1.1 million for other components.
