Four more persons detained regarding armed incident in Azerbaijani city of Sumgait

As a result of investigation and search operations, officers of Azerbaijani police and public prosecution bodies detained four more persons suspected of involvement in armed incident that took place in the Azerbaijani city of Sumgait, according to Azerbaijani Interior Ministry.
The detainees are the city's residents - Ahmed Salmanov, Kanan Mehraliyev, Rovshan Musayev and Elshan Mammadov.
As a result of a search conducted in Salmanov's house, 110 grams of hashish, five kilograms of a substance looking like mercury, 44 copies of religious literature of various content and 30 discs prohibited by law, were seized.
The search of Mehraliyev's house revealed one F-1 grenade, one grenade lighter, 123 sub machine gun cartridges, 30 copies of religious literature and 30 discs of different content prohibited by law.
It also found Musayev had been stabbed in various parts of his body.
Operative investigations are underway regarding the incident.
A conflict broke out between a group of persons belonging to the Khawarij and Salafi extremist movements on Dec. 11 at about 20:30 in a tearoom located in the 10th micro-district of Sumgait. The city's residents Anar Rahimov and Elmar Mammadli were stabbed during the incident, while the residents of the Teze Jorat settlement Elshan Musayev and Elnur Nazaraliyev got shrapnel wounds.
