BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 2. Export value of Azerbaijani SOCAR Polymer’s products increased by 0.38 percent from January through June 2022 in annual terms, Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan told Trend.
According to the center, SOCAR Polymer became one of the leaders of public sector of Azerbaijan in terms of exports. Exports of the company's products amounted to $79.3 million during reported period, which is $300,000 more than in the same period in 2021.
The construction of SOCAR Polymer plants has become the first large-scale project of the country's petrochemical industry over the past 40 years.
The company’s production facilities consisting of polypropylene (PP) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plants are located on the territory of the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park (SCIP).
The PP and HDPE plants were commissioned in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
