Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Oct. 11 / Trend , H.Hasanov /

A cement plant worth 180 million euros was commissioned near Jebel town in the west of Turkmenistan, an official Turkmen source reported.

The Turkmen Ministry of Building Materials is a customer.

The Turkish firm Polimeks Insaat Taahhüt ve San. Tic. A.S will construct the Jebel plant, which will have a capacity of 1 million tons a year.

The total area is 500,000 square meters. The German company Siemens Industry has supplied equipment to electrify and automate the enterprise.

The plant is equipped with the latest technological equipment, systems, electronics and automation, transportation, cargo handling and other equipment from leading manufacturers.

When designing and selecting the location for the plant, first factors such as the availability of local raw materials for cement production, as well as the proximity of the energy and transport infrastructure were taken into the account. In particular, there was the necessity for it to be near a railway and the Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi-Balkanabat highway.

The company's products, including high-strength portland cement, will be used in the construction of tall buildings and other objects in a seismic zone of Turkmenistan.

In addition, the plant will produce oil well cement needed for the oil and gas industries, as well as sulfate-resistant cement to be used particularly in the construction of the foundations and pillars of bridges and other waterworks.

Polimeks is building a similar plant in the village of Garlyk, Lebap region.
