The seventh meeting of the Iran-Vietnam joint economic committee will be held in Tehran in Jan. 7 to 8 to sign a double taxation avoidance agreement, the IRNA news agency reported.
The value of trade between Iran and Vietnam stood at $127 million in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year, which ended on November 21, 2011.
"Both sides expect bilateral trade volume to reach $1 billion in the near future. Iran is considering joint investment in oil and gas, in the Vietnamese petrochemical industry and in the exchange of technical and training delegations," Iran's ambassador to Hanoi, Seyed Javad Ghavam Shahidi said.
