The law "on amendments and supplements to the Tax Code of Turkmenistan" came into force in Turkmenistan, local media reported June 22.
The payers of the levy tax are legal entities and individuals who possess vehicles in Turkmenistan.
Rates of tax levied on owners of vehicles are established in the following sizes on the grounds of the basic value established by the legislation of Turkmenistan for calculation of taxes and fees, for: motor transport – 1-fold size; buses – 3-fold size; cars – 2-fold size; and trucks – 6-fold size.
The national heroes of Turkmenistan, public associations of disabled people, religious organizations and a number of others are exempted from paying the tax levied on the owners of vehicles. The base value for calculation of taxes and fees is 50 manats.
