Azerbaijan’s Sumgait Technologies Park (STP) is negotiating with foreign companies on the export of its disinfection tunnels, PR manager of the STP Rashad Aliyev, told Trend.

The first commissioning of these disinfection tunnels took place at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in May 2020.

“Production of disinfection tunnels at STP began in May 2020. Since the introduction of a new product on the market, our company regularly receives orders for tunnels, the production of which is currently continuing with the provision of timely delivery to buyers,” Aliyev said.

The PR manager noted that STP’s buyers are various government agencies, private companies and airports.

“Due to the uncertain situation caused by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the volume of international trade in Azerbaijan has significantly decreased. Therefore, it is difficult to make any predictions about the increase in STP’s production this year,” he added.

STP, commissioned in December 2009, is a complex of big plants specializing in various fields of production.

It has 50 hectares of closed production area per 250 hectares of the company’s total area. It consists of 12 factories and over 30 production sites, which employ more than 2,000 workers.

STP products distinguished by high quality are supplied to the markets of Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Turkey, and are sold under the 'Made in Azerbaijan' brand.
