Iran would domestically produce steel sheets for CNG fuel tanks, to increase converting gasoline fuel vehicles to run on CNG, said the deputy in the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company.
""Steel sheets is one of the issues that effect price of CNG tank and fortunately 100 percent of country's needs would be handled domestically," said Hamid Ghasemi Dehchashmeh, Trend reports citing IRIB.
"The National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company would convert gasoline and diesel fuel systems used in public transportation to CNG fuel," he added.
"There are currently seven companies that are active in producing CNG tank and converting fuel system, it is expected that 250 centers would supply necessary equipment to these companies," he said.
"Converting vehicles to CNG fuel depends on capacity of these factories. Each factory has the capacity to convert 15,000 vehicles per month. It has been planned that they would increase their capacity to convert 30,000 vehicles by the end of current Iranian year (started March 20,2020)," he said.
"The implementation of this plan has created jobs for 26,000 people from the start of the current Iranian year (started March 20,2020)," he said.
