New textile shops opened in Turkmenistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 18

Five specialized textile stores of the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan have opened in its capital -Ashgabat, Trend reports with reference to “Zolotoy Vek” (Golden Age) newspaper.

The products of the textile industry are primarily focused on the domestic needs of the population and solve the problem of import substitution.

Stores also conduct online sales, the report says.

Turkmenistan currently exports more than 70 percent of textile products to foreign markets.

One of the textile exporters in Turkmenistan is the Ashgabat Textile Complex, which provides the country's domestic markets with textile products, producing a variety of export-oriented goods.

Turkmenistan's textile products are exported to more than 30 countries, including countries such as the US, Great Britain, France, Germany, and Switzerland.

Turkmenistan annually grows more than one million tons of cotton, which serves as a raw material base for the development of the textile industry.

A significant part of Turkmenistan's products exported abroad is home textiles, sports, and denim clothing. The textile industry of Turkmenistan includes more than 70 textile and clothing enterprises.
