The activities of 7 mines in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) were restored during the first 3 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through June 21, 2021), Chairman of Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization of Hormozgan Province, Khalil Ghasemi said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.
According to him, about 7 billion rials (about $167,000) have been spent on the restoration of these mines.
Ghasemi added that 87 people were provided with jobs in the restored mines within three months.
The chairman noted that stone carcasses, gypsum, and mixed minerals are extracted from the restored mines.
As reported, 21 types of minerals are extracted in Iran's Hormozgan Province. The province's mining reserves currently amount to 1.56 million tons.
