The second line between Jafar Jabbarly and Khatai subway stations might be commissioned late this year. Intensive construction is conducted in area at the moment, the Baku Metro told Trend.
The Baku Metro stresses the necessity for the implementation of the project despite the difficulties in this direction, as it will enable to attract additional number of passengers to Jafar Jabbarly subway stations.
27bn manats ($5.8m) will be spent on implementation of the project.
At present the Baku metro is comprised of 2 lines and 20 stations with 32 vestibules. 42 escalators with the general length of 4300 meters function the Baku metro.
The general length of the tunnel construction is 80.96km. Daily over 520,000 passengers use metro, while every year the passenger flow grows 5%.
