Petrol manufacturing up, import down in Kazakhstan

In January-April 2019, the volume of manufactured petrol in Kazakhstan amounted to 1.2 million tons, whereas the volume of diesel fuel manufacturing amounted to 1.6 million tons, which is 10.3 percent more than in January-April of the previous year, Trend reports referring to Energyprom.

The major part of manufacturing volume accounts for Pavlodar region. It produced 472.1 tons of petrol (decrease by 3.9 percent) comprising 38.6 percent of total volume. The volume of manufactured diesel fuel amounted to 648,900 tons (+4.7 percent) and comprised 41.4 percent of the total volume.

Furthermore, out of the total manufacturing volume Shymkent city manufactured 35.6 percent of petrol and 25.3 percent of diesel fuel. Atyrau region manufactured 24.6 percent of petrol and 29.3 percent of diesel fuel.

“Some 98.2 percent of petrol demand and 93.1 percent of diesel fuel demand is supplied by Kazakh manufacturers in January-March 2019,” the report says.

“Due to the increase of manufacturing and import substitution policy, the import volume of petrol decreased by 94 percent and amounted to 16,700 tons. In turn, export increased 11.2 times in a year and stood at 665,900 tons," reads the message.
