The Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) will start extraordinary extraction from the Abouzar oil field, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

According to the report, the Sahar 2 drilling rig is currently moving towards the oil field and the excavations are estimated to be completed soon. Thus, oil extraction from the Abouzar field will increase.

“In addition, there 2 platforms will be installed in the Abouzar oil field. So, the AC platform will be installed in well A20 and the AA platform – in well A21 in the Abouzar field. Two 8-inch and 12-inch pipelines with a length of 17 km were laid between these platforms,” the report said.

The two platforms will be ready for installation early next Iranian year (from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023). There is 63 percent physical progress in the construction of platforms, each weighing about 1,200 tons, the report said.

As reported, Iran's Abouzar oil field is located in Bushehr Province, 75 km west of Kharg Island. The field contains about 4 billion barrels of crude oil. Iran is reportedly extracted 220,000 barrels of oil daily from the field.
