BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 29. The amount of loans issued by Iranian banks to start-up companies in the country increased by approximately 165 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).
Overall, Iranian banks have issued loans worth 1.77 quadrillion rials (about $42.2 billion) to 2,113 start-up companies in the country for the last Iranian year.
Meanwhile in the preceding Iranian year, the loans worth 669 trillion rials (about $15.9 billion) were issued to 1,362 start-up companies in Iran.
Alone in the 12th month of the last Iranian year (February 20 through March 20, 2023), Iranian banks provided loans worth approximately 328 trillion rials (about $7.8 billion) to 833 start-up companies.
This is an increase of 234 percent compared to the 12th month of the preceding Iranian year (February 20 through March 20, 2022). So, Iranian banks provided loans to 561 start-up companies worth 97.9 trillion rials (about $2.33 billion) within the mentioned month.
In total, Iranian banks issued loans worth 37.6 quadrillion rials (about $896 billion) in various economic sectors in the country for the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).
