Weekly buy/sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange down

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 29. In total, 2.13 million tons of goods worth 225 trillion rials (about $5.35 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME), during the last Iranian week (April 22 through April 27, 2023), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

The sales have decreased by 25.2 percent in value and 32.3 percent in volume compared to the preceding Iranian week (April 15 through April 20, 2023).

So, 3.15 million tons of goods worth 301 trillion rials (about $7.17 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding Iranian week.

According to the report, about 1.75 million tons of goods worth 139 trillion rials (about $3.31 billion) were sold in IME's industrial and mining products section last week.

The main products sold in this section included cement, iron ore, steel, sponge iron, aluminum, copper, lead, molybdenum concentrate and etc.

Furthermore, about 375,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth approximately 83.2 trillion rials (about $1.98 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week.

The main products sold in this section were bitumen, vacuum bottom, polymers, chemicals, lube cut, base oil, petroleum products, sulfur, etc.

At the same time, 11,000 tons of various products worth 3.25 trillion rials (about $77.3 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
