The production of car engines in Uzbekistan from January through May 2021 increased by 39.1 percent compared to the same period in 2020, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the committee, 57,400 car engines were produced by Uzbek manufactures during the reporting period.
In addition, Uzbekistan produced 456,200 tons of gasoline, increasing its production by 3.4 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2020.
Also, 1,606 trucks were produced in with an increase in volume of production increased by 11.3 percent.
The committee also reports that the production of buses and tractors in the country from January through May 2021 amounted to 323 and 173 units, respectively. It is noted that buses output increased by 27.9 percent, while tractors production decreased by 27.9 percent.
Furthermore, it was noted that Uzbek automotive industry in 5M2021 produced 25,059 Cobalt cars (growth by 83.2 percent, compared to 2020), 11,130 - Nexia cars (growth by 37.8 percent), 16,848 - Gentra cars (growth by 79.1 percent), 22,799 - Damas cars (growth by 2.9 percent), 4,942 - Spark cars (growth by 40.6 percent).
At the end of 5M2021, the share of production of vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 12.5 percent, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2021, reached 9 percent.
It was noted that the share of this industry amounted to 8.3 percent, while the physical volume index decreased by 21.8 percent, and the production volume amounted to 10.9 trillion soums ($1 billion).
