Kazakhstan identifies priorities within CSTO presidency

During its presidency in the CSTO, Kazakhstan remains committed to the main activities of the organization, Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov said at a press briefing in Astana on Friday.
"Our president officially stated Kazakhstan's CSTO chairmanship priorities for 2012 at a session of the CSTO Council in December 2011.They meet the basic directions of activity of the Collective Security Treaty Organization," Kazykhanov said.
According to the minister, strengthening security in the CSTO zone of responsibility, strengthening and supporting the rapid reaction forces, protecting air space, information security, and rapid response to emergencies remain priorities for Kazakhstan.
