BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 10. Kazakhstan's consumer price index (CPI) increased by 16.8 percent in April 2023 against the same month in 2023, Trend reports via Kazakhstan's Bureau of National Statistics.
According to the bureau, prices for food products went up by 17.9 percent, while non-food products – by 18.2 percent. Meanwhile, paid services rendered to the population rose by 13.7 percent.
Furthermore, prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 19 percent, while that of food and soft drinks rose by 17.8 percent.
Prices for household items and household appliances saw the largest increase of 25.7 percent over the year, while the lowest increase of 1.9 percent was observed in prices for communication.
The country's CPI increased by 19.2 percent from January through April 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.
