BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 22. Singapore's total investment in Kazakhstan's economy surpassed $1.4 billion, while the volume of bilateral trade approached $2 billion last year, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said, Trend reports.
He made the remark during a meeting with the President of Singapore Halimah Yacob, who is on a state visit to the country.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the importance of a robust institutional framework for bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the significant role played by the Kazakhstan-Singapore Business Council.
According to Halimah Yacob, this is the first visit of the Singaporean President to Kazakhstan and to Central Asia in general. Recognizing Kazakhstan's role as a regional leader, Singapore views the country as a highly valuable partner in the region, she said.
Then, a number of crucial documents, including the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Singapore on Trade in Services and Investments and the Cooperation Agreement between Astana International Financial Center and Enterprise Singapore, were signed in the presence of heads of state.
