ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 19. It is expected that the refinery in Shymkent city in the southern part of Kazakhstan will stabilize its operations by the end of this week, Dmitriy Makeyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of KazMunayGas Kazakhstan's national company, said, Trend reports.
Regarding the refinery in Pavlodar city, he mentioned that it cannot be instantly launched. Currently, the first stage has been initiated, and a phased restart is underway. The entire process of bringing all the technological units to full operation will take about two weeks.
However, the refinery in Pavlodar has already started producing the necessary components for the manufacturing of finished goods, and shipments will be normalized soon, according to Makeyev.
Earlier, he said KazMunayGas' has plans to meet the country's aviation kerosene demand. He stated that the production expected to reach approximately 1.2 million tons in the next 10-20 years.
“The estimated import of aviation kerosene in Kazakhstan is about 300,000 tons, while our demand stands at 900,000 tons. However, our priority is to ensure the needs of passenger airlines,” Makeyev said. He added that considering the increasing demand for aviation kerosene in the coming years, there are plans to expand production accordingly.
"With the expansion of the Shymkent refinery, we are considering an increase of more than 1.2 million tons in total production capacity for the country. The technical solutions for the expansion of the Shymkent refinery are aimed, among other things, at meeting the aviation kerosene requirements in full," he explained.
