ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 16. Kazakhstan manufactured industrial products worth 29.9 trillion tenge (about $64 billion), of which in the mining industry - 13.9 trillion tenge or about $29.8 billion (46.6 percent of the total volume), manufacturing - 14 trillion tenge or about $30 billion ( 46.9 percent) in the first eight months, Trend reports.
Data of the country's Bureau of National Statistics show that production growth is observed in the mining and quarrying industry by 4.3 percent, manufacturing industry - by 3.1 percent, supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning - by 5.4 percent, collection, processing and disposal of waste, pollution elimination activities - by 5.5 percent.
Among the regions, the greatest growth was recorded in Akmola, Almaty, Atyrau, North Kazakhstan regions and Almaty city.
In the mining and quarrying industry from January through August 2023, the Industrial Production Index amounted to 104.3 percent, which is due to an increase in the production of crude oil (106.6 percent), natural gas (103.2 percent), ores, except iron (101.2 percent) and other minerals (113.6 percent).
In the manufacturing industry, the Industrial Production Index in the reporting period compared to the same period in 2022 amounted to 103.1 percent. Growth was recorded in the production of food products by 4 percent, beverages by 5.4 percent, chemical products by 3.1 percent, rubber and plastic products by 7.5 percent, finished metal products, except machinery and equipment, by 6.4 percent, mechanical engineering – by 28.1 percent.
An increase in production volumes was recorded in 13 regions of the country, a decrease was observed in Aktobe, Karaganda, Kyzylorda, Mangistau, Ulytau, Pavlodar regions and Astana city.
