Value of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 19. Kyrgyzstan has increased the value of industrial production from January through March 2023 by 7 percent year-on-year – up to 92.5 billion ($1 billion), Trend reports with reference to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

The production growth was registered in the following fields:

Manufacturing of chemical products – by 36.4 percent;

Pharmaceutical products manufacturing – by 19.8 percent;

Wood and paper products manufacturing and printing activities – by 16.2 percent;

Manufacturing of rubber, plastic products and building materials – 10.7 percent;

Food and tobacco products manufacturing – by 3.1 percent;

The increase in production of mining amounted to 21.4 percent.

At the same time, a decrease was registered in the production of petroleum products (by 11.1 percent), as well as textile production, the production of clothing and footwear, leather and leather goods (by 4.5 percent).

A decrease in the water supply, processing and disposal of waste and the production of secondary raw materials amounted to 43.8 percent, the report said.

Meanwhile, the value of electricity, gas and steam supply in the firs quarter of 2023 remained at the level of the corresponding period last year

According to statistics, the total value of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan reached 426 billion soms ($4.9 billion) in 2022, increasing by 11 percent compared to 2021.
