BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 15. Money transfers from Kyrgyzstan to abroad amounted to $30 million in July 2023, Trend reports.
Data from the National Bank of the country shows that this is 7 percent less than the previous month, which was $32.4 million. Taking into account that $145.9 million was received in Kyrgyzstan during the reporting period, the net inflow of money amounted to $115.9 million.
The majority of the money was sent to the countries of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), accounting for over 96 percent, totaling $28.9 million, while $1.1 million was sent to non-CIS countries.
The outflow of money transfers from Kyrgyzstan has been decreasing since the beginning of the year, as follows:
January 2023: $57.9 million;
February 2023: $49.5 million;
March 2023: $42.2 million;
April 2023: $40.3 million;
May 2023: $34.5 million;
June 2023: $32.4 million;
July 2023: $30 million.
In total, $286.8 million was transferred from Kyrgyzstan abroad from January through July 2023.
Meanwhile, in 2022, a total of $1.2 billion was transferred from Kyrgyzstan to other countries. Remittances to the country amounted to $2.9 billion last year, resulting in a net inflow of $1.7 billion.
