By Huseyn Hasanov – Trend:

More than 60 percent of comprehensive modernization of the technological line has been performed at the gas processing complex in the Nayip area (Lebap province of Turkmenistan), Trend reports with reference to Neytralni Turkmenistan newspaper.

All measures are taken to accelerate completion of the work, and this will significantly increase the efficiency of processing natural fuel as well as the quality of liquefied gas and hydrocarbon condensate produced from it, the news report says.

This unit, commissioned by the Italian company Tecno Frigo in June 1998, marked the beginning of the gas processing industry in Turkmenistan.

Almost 40,000 tons of liquefied gas have been produced in the Lebap province since the beginning of the year, including 4,000 tons in excess of the plan. It is reported that reconstruction of a unit for the production of liquefied gas at the Bagaja field will be also carried out. In addition, it is planned to build a gas-chemical complex for the production of styrene-butadiene rubber and polystyrene at its base.

Turkmen liquefied gas is annually bought by Afghanistan, Georgia, Iran, Tajikistan and Pakistan.
