BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 21. Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Aksoltan Atayeva met with State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Samuel Zbogar, Trend reports citing the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the issues of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, priority areas of the two countries, climate change and water issues.
Zbogar noted that Slovenia has put forward its candidacy for the UN Security Council for the period 2024 - 2025 and asked to support the country in the elections to be held in June 2023.
In turn, Aksoltan Atayeva stressed the high level of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Slovenia in the fields of healthcare, telecommunications and transport.
She noted that Turkmenistan intends to submit to the 77th session of the UN General Assembly a draft resolution on declaring 2023 the International Year of "Dialogue as a Guarantee of Peace".
