BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 26. The total assets of banks in Uzbekistan amounted to 539.9 trillion soums ($48.4 billion) from January through September 2022, which is an increase of 32.2 percent compared to the same period last year (408.5 trillion soums or $36.6 billion), Trend reports via the Uzbek Central Bank.
From January through September 2022, state-owned banks’ assets accounted for 427.3 trillion soums ($38.3 billion), while private banks’ assets accounted for 112.6 trillion soums ($10.1 billion).
The total liabilities of banks in Uzbekistan during this period also increased by 35 percent, compared to the same period in 2021 (342.9 trillion soums, or $30.7 billion), reaching 463.1 trillion soums ($41.6 billion).
During this period, the liabilities of state banks amounted to 367 trillion soums ($32.9 billion). At the same time, the liabilities of private banks reached 96.1 trillion soums ($8.6 billion).
