BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 1. 'Thermal Power Plant' JSC has installed solar panels with a total capacity of 30 kW on the rooftops of the company’s administrative building, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s Energy Ministry.

The ministry said that the newly installed panels will fully cover the organization's annual need for electricity, by producing 54,000 kWh of electricity per year. As a result, 10,000 cubic meters of natural gas will be saved per year.

Thus installing additional panels the total power of solar panels in the company reached 70 kW. This will make it possible to cover 30-40 percent of the electricity used for own needs at the expense of renewable energy sources.

The country’s authorities pay special attention to boosting renewables deployment countrywide. In this regard, the number of solar panels installed on buildings and structures of social facilities and economic entities will be expanded.

The abovementioned measures are taken within the framework of the Uzbek President's "On measures to accelerate the introduction of renewable energy sources and energy-saving technologies in 2023" Resolution.
