TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 5. North China's Hebei province launched a new international multimodal transport route to Uzbekistan, Trend reports.
On July 4, as noted by China's State Council, a train with over 1,000 tons of goods departed from Langfang City in the mentioned province. After arriving at Kashgar City in China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the goods will be transported via cross-border highways to Kyrgyzstan, where they will be loaded back into trains and transshipped to the final destination of Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The total length of this route, which connects China with Uzbekistan is about 6,000 km. The train is expected to arrive in Tashkent in about 12 days.
Anticipated to enhance economic and trade ties between China and Uzbekistan, the introduced multimodal transportation route is poised to boost efficiency and cost-effectiveness in logistics operations.
In response to the need for an optimized and adjusted transport structure, China unveiled a comprehensive five-year work plan last year, aiming to foster the advancement of multimodal transportation. As per the plan's objectives, significant enhancements in the development of multimodal transport across the country are anticipated by 2025.
