Iran executes convicted murderer in public
A convicted murderer was hanged in public on Wednesday in the capital Tehran, Fars news agency reported.
The man was hanged in the Kaj square in Tehran after his death verdict was confirmed by the Supreme Court.
Iran usually implements executions inside prisons, but occasionally also carries them out in public, DPA reported.
Murder, rape, armed robbery and trafficking more than 5 kilograms of drugs are among the crimes punishable by death.
