Three people were executed in the West Azerbaijan province in Iran for drug smuggling, IRNA news agency reported.
According to The Human Rights Watch statistics , over the last month Iran executed 73 people.
On Thursday, the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy Catherine Ashton's statement was disseminated, which states that the number of executions in Iran has reached horrific scales. In her statement Ashton called on the Islamic Republic to observe international obligations.
Iran ranks second after China for the number of executions.
