Iranian lawmakers on Sunday voted for a single-urgency motion to impose sanctions on 26 mostly former US officials for their role and involvement in the killing of civilians and torture in US-run prisons, Iran Daily reported with reference to IRNA.
The bill, among other things, calls for their trial in absentia for crimes against humanity, war crimes and violating human rights.
The officials include the commander of US forces in Iraq Raymond Odierno, USS Vincennes Captain Will Rogers III, former FBI chief Thomas J. Pickard, and the former commander of the US detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Geoffrey D. Miller.
Current Guantanamo boss Rear Admiral Jeffery Harbeson and former secretary of defense Donald Rumsfeld are also singled out.
