First int'l oil refining forum opens in Tehran

(www.irna.ir) вЂ" A two-day international oil refining forum, the first of its kind, opened here Saturday morning in the presence of the Oil Minister and Minister of the Economy.

Managers of the oil industry as well as representatives of more than 83 foreign and 206 Iranian companies in the oil refining business and distribution of oil products are participating in the event.

Refining and refining quality of heavy and ultra heavy oil resources in Iran is the main issues to be tackled at the forum.

Modern technologies crucial to oil refining, capacity building, standardization and environment requirements, safety and health at refineries, investment, financing and economy for refineries are also on the agenda, reports Trend.

Equipment and their relation to efficiency and improvement of production, construction engineering and contracting affairs are other items on the agenda of the two-day gathering.

Companies from Algeria, China, Bahrain, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Oman, Pakistan, South Korea, Britain, the US and a few other countries are among the foreign participants.

On the sidelines of the confab, an exhibition aiming to introduce the potentials of Iranian oil enterprises to representatives of foreign companies attending the meeting will be held.

Forty-five Iranian and three foreign companies are participating in this exhibition.
