The head of the U.S. European Command, NATO's Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, James Stavridis will pay an official visit to Georgia on April 10. It will be a one-day visit.
The admiral will meet with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili. He will also visit military units.
Georgian Defence Minister Irakli Alasania announced the upcoming visit of James Stavridis on Monday at a parliamentary committee on defense and security. According to him, the visit will discuss how Georgia will continue to participate in operations in Afghanistan after 2014.
