Georgia’s imports of cement from January through November 2021 amounted to $40.2 million, which is an increase of 16.1 percent, compared to $34.6 million over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).
The volume of the imported cement to Georgia over the first 11 months of 2021 also increased by percent, compared to the same period of 2020 – from 678,281 tons to 784,594 tons.
TOP-5 exporters of cement to Georgia (Jan. through Nov. 2021):
Azerbaijan – $27.9 million (582,179 tons);
Turkey – $12.3 million (202,383 tons);
Russia – $21,630 (23,520 tons);
Greece – $5,790 (6,100 tons);
Germany – $2,480 (1,150 tons).
Meanwhile, Georgia’s total imports from January through November 2021 amounted to $8.9 billion, which is an increase of 24.5 percent, compared to $7.2 billion over the reporting period of 2020.
