Japan's F-15 fighter crashes in training flight, pilot missing
A F-15 fighter of Japan's Air Self- Defense Force crashed on Tuesday, the Defense Ministry confirmed. The pilot of the jet remains missing, Xinhua reported.
Officials with the Defense Ministry told Xinhua the aircraft took off from Naha Air Base in Okinawa Prefecture Tuesday morning for a training flight. The pilot sent emergency signals before his jet disappeared from radar around 10:33 a.m (0133 GMT) about 180 kilometres northwest of Naha city.
Rescue team had found a tail section of the fighter and some other parts, according to the officials.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to the ministry.
