Trend:

Russian President Vladimir Putin began talks with Kyrgyz counterpart Almazbek Atambayev at the Constantine Palace in Strelna, TASS reported March 16. This has been the second meeting of leaders since early 2015.

The meeting between the two presidents is being held amid the media rumors about President Putin's alleged illness. President Atambayev denied rumors about President Putin's bad health.

Spokesman for the Russian president Dmitry Peskov has recently denied such rumors.

"The agenda of talks with President Atambayev at a high level envisages a discussion of key issues of further strengthening of the Russian-Kyrgyz cooperation, first of all, trade-investment, cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as the energy sector," the Kremlin reported earlier.

"The views on cooperation in the context of Kyrgyzstan's joining the Eurasian Economic Union are planned to be exchanged," the Kremlin said.
