A premeditated arson attack has been committed in Iranian Advisory Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani's reception room, as a result of which all documents and equipment was burned down, Iranian Mardomsalari newspaper quotes the Advisory Council as reporting.
According to the report, the arson was committed at 2:30 a.m., local time, on Monday.

"An unknown person broke into the building, where the Advisory Council is situated, approached the reception room, set fire to it, and escaped. The incident was recorded on video surveillance cameras in the building, and the recording was handed over to law enforcement agencies. A secretary on duty was injured as a result of the incident, and later hospitalized," said in the Advisory Council's statement.

Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani's children, Mehdi Hashemi and Faiza Hashemi, were repeatedly accused of organizing riots in the country, including protests against the results of the presidential elections held in June 2009. During the rallies Faiza Hashemi was arrested twice. At present, Mehdi Hashemi is in the UK. Last year the Tehran Prosecutor's Office imposed restraint measures against Mehdi Hashemi.
