FM: New format of Georgian-Azerbaijani-Turkish relations not directed against third countries

The new format of the Georgian-Azerbaijani-Turkish cooperation is not directed against any third country, Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze told journalists on Saturday.

The new format of the Georgian-Azerbaijani-Turkish cooperation is not directed against any third country, Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze told journalists on Saturday.

A meeting of foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia Elmar Mammadyarov, Ahmet Davutoglu and Grigol Vashadze was held in the Turkish city of Trabzon on Friday, as a result the tripartite Trabzon declaration was signed.

Vashadze said that the new format is aimed "at protection of our countries' interests".

"The new format is not directed against anyone and only serves to strengthening of strategic cooperation between our countries," Vashadze said. He said this declaration emphasizes "strategic relations" between the neighboring states, which jointly implement a number of regional projects in the economic sphere.

"We have decided to formalize our strategic partnership and make it more dynamic," Vashadze said.
