Azerbaijan to export medical masks to Russia and Germany

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 25

Azerbaijan’s Baku Textile Factory LLC operating in the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park plans to start to export medical masks to Russia and Germany in December, Director of Baku Textile Factory LLC Sakina Babayeva told Trend.

“The factory applied for getting a certificate confirming the hygiene and complete sterility of the medical masks,” Babayeva added. "We will receive an international certificate from Switzerland within two weeks, after which we will start to export masks. After receiving the certificate, we also plan to start the negotiations with Latvia and Moldova."

Babayeva stated that the selling price of masks that are produced at the factory is 0.12-0.17 qepik (0.07-0.1 cents).

The factory increased the production volumes by 40 percent in 2019 compared to 2018. Currently, 300 people work at the Baku Textile Factory and seven production lines are used.

The factory has been operating since 1939. In fact, it was the first textile factory in the South Caucasus region. The factory has been equipped with the latest equipment and technologies from Germany and Japan. The experienced specialists work at the factory.

The production of casual wear, evening dresses, corporate, children's, sports and medical clothing, school uniforms and all types of workwear, including military uniforms has been established at the factory.
