IRICA shares data on Iran’s export to neighboring countries

The exports of Iran to neighboring countries increased by 41 percent in terms of value and 33 percent in terms of volume, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

The customs official noted that Iran exported 36 million tons of goods worth $11.2 billion to neighboring countries in 6 months.

Latifi also added that Iran’s exports to neighboring countries for the reporting period accounted for 51.5 percent of Iran’s total exports in terms of value and 60 percent in terms of value.

"So, Iran exported $3.84 billion worth of goods to Iraq, $2.3 billion worth to Turkey, $2.4 billion worth to the UAE, $999 million worth to Afghanistan and $544 million worth to Pakistan over six months," he said.

The spokesman stressed that in addition, Iran exported $277 million worth of goods to Oman, $270 million worth to Russia, $212 million worth to Azerbaijan, $145 million worth to Turkmenistan, $80 million worth to Kazakhstan, $75 million worth to Qatar, $65 million worth to Kuwait, $3 million worth to Bahrain, $39,000 worth to Saudi Arabia and other countries, as well as $156 million worth of goods to other countries around Iran.

According to Latifi, Iran's total trade turnover with neighboring countries for six months amounted to 47 million tons worth about $22.6 billion. This is an increase of 52 percent in terms of value and 37 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

As reported, Iran exported 60 million tons of goods worth $21.8 billion during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021).

Iran's exports increased by 61 percent in terms of value and 30 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

In addition, Iran imported 19.1 million tons of goods worth $23.1 billion within the mentioned period. Iran's imports increased by 37 percent in terms of value and 15 percent in terms of value, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
