TEHRAN, Iran, Jan. 5

Returned shipment of Iran agricultural products was less than five percent of the country's total export, said the acting president of an export development office in the Agriculture Ministry, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

Iran exported 5.5 million tons of agricultural products in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2021) returned cargo was less than five percent of total export, Masoud Basiri noted.

Iran exported 97,000 tons of bell pepper across the world including 46,000 tons that have been exported to Russia. The bell pepper export had 98 percent growth compared to 2020.

"A Russian delegation is to visit Iran's greenhouses and production centers. Iran is resuming bell pepper export to Russia soon," he indicated.

Iran exported 78,000 tons of kiwis in the first eight months of the current year, including 24,000 tons to India. The total kiwi export had a 72 percent increase.

Iran exported 444,000 tons of potatoes of which 64,000 tons were exported to Uzbekistan. The returned cargo from Uzbekistan was far less than exported volume.
